Position Description: A postdoctoral position is available in the Laboratory of Cancer Prevention, National Cancer Institute, Frederick, MD, to study DNA methylation during cellular differentiation and tumorigenesis. Some of our current areas of research interest include: understanding which factors control establishment of DNA methylation, how does DNA methylation affect transcription and how does DNA methylation alter chromatin structure. A current focus of our Laboratory is on Lsh, a chromatin remodeling family member, essential for normal DNA methylation. The laboratory uses a multidisciplinary approach, utilizing molecular and cellular biology experimental approaches which include characterization of Lsh knock-out mice, genome-wide chromatin immunoprecipitation, microarrays, and ES cell differentiation.
Experience Required: Interested applicants should have a Ph.D. and less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience.
