The CCR "Cancer Research Interns" Program was inaugurated in 2004 to further embrace diversity of trainee applicants to CCR. Over the past eight summers we have placed 203 of the 374 students recruited in labs and branches across the CCR. The CCR Office of Training and Education provides the training dollars, some Service & Supply funds, and travel support for those students who meet the financial eligibility criteria (click here to view flyer). We have also expanded our network of colleges, universities, and minority-targeted programs to bring a new group of fellows to the CCR each summer.
Students interested in the Cancer Research Interns (CRI) Summer Internship Program apply online through the NIH Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE) website at: www.training.nih.gov mid-November until March 1. Applicants must also e-mail a Statement of Interest to the Program Manager, Vi Black (vb55k@nih.gov), after on the online application has been submitted.
All students are required to present posters for the NIH Annual Summer Intern Poster Day. For more information, contact Dr. Jonathan Wiest or Vi Black.
