The CCR "Cancer Research Interns" Program was inaugurated in 2004 to increase the diversity of trainee applicants to the CCR. Over the past 10 summers we have placed 247 of the 448 students recruited in labs and branches across the Center. The CCR Office of Training and Education provides the training dollars, some Service & Supply funds, and travel support for those students who meet the financial eligibility criteria (click here to view flier). We have also expanded our network of colleges, universities, and minority-targeted programs to bring a new group of fellows to the CCR each summer.
Students interested in the Cancer Research Interns (CRI) Summer Internship Program must apply online through the NIH Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE) website at https://www.training.nih.gov. Applications for Summer 2014 will be accepted from mid-November until January 17, 2014.
Applicants must also e-mail a Statement of Interest to the Program Manager, Vi Black (firstname.lastname@example.org), after the online application has been submitted.
All selected CRI fellows are required to present posters for the NIH Annual Summer Intern Poster Day. For more information, contact Dr. Jonathan Wiest or Vi Black.
